The committee is comprised of community leaders, local art and design professionals, and village residents appointed by the Mayor. The committee is committed to promoting a rich, diverse, and stimulating cultural environment to enrich the lives of the village’s residents, business owners, employees and visitors, and to enhance the village’s image both nationally and internationally.
The FPAC has supported the Fairport Office of Community and Economic Development to acquire two art installations for the Thomas Creek Wetland Walk Improvement Project. Most recently, the FPAC managed the acquisition of the 2019 sculpture Connection by Juan Carlos Caballero-Perez, located in Kennelly Park. This work is the first of a planned Fairport Public Art Trail on the Erie Canal between the village and Perinton Park. The FPAC is currently working with the village and local organizations to identify additional opportunities for art installations and art events throughout Fairport Village.
The FPAC participates in Village activities such as Home for the Holidays, Scarecrow Festival, Canal Days Duck Race and chairs the Annual Canal Days Community Chalk Art Contest.
