Please consider making a charitable contribution to support the Fairport Public Arts Committee.  Your support allows the Committee to host community art events and supports the procurement of public art installations for the Village.

The Fairport Foundation and has been incorporated to provide a charitable structure that will enhance the ability of existing community organizations such as the Fairport Public Arts Committee, to obtain funds necessary to implement programs, execute plans and sustain operations vital to the social, environmental, cultural and, ultimately, the economic well-being of the community.  As a 501c3 organization, the Fairport Foundation provides fiscal oversight for the Fairport Public Arts Committee.

The Fairport Public Arts Commission (FPAC) was formed in April 2016 to facilitate the incorporation of public art in the Village of Fairport.  The FPAC oversees the public arts process within the Village, updates the Public Art Plan, and makes approvals and recommendations to the Village Board regarding commissions and investments in the Village’s public artwork collection and programs.

The FPAC has supported the Fairport Office of Community and Economic Development to acquire two art installations for the Thomas Creek Wetland Walk Improvement Project.  Most recently, the FPAC managed the acquisition of the 2019 sculpture Connection by Juan Carlos Caballero-Perez, located in Kennelly Park.  This work is the first of a planned Fairport Public Art Trail on Erie Canal between the village and Perinton Park. The FPAC is currently working with the village and local organizations to identify additional opportunities for art installations and art events throughout Fairport Village.

The FPAC participates in Village activities such as Home for the Holidays, Scarecrow Festival, Canal Days Duck Race and chairs the Annual Canal Days Community Chalk Art Contest.
